Below are some of our basic guidelines that are in place to give you what we believe to be a very satisfying experience while using the San Diego One My Place Computing Center. We know that there is always room for improvement and ask for your input and opinion. Please understand that we are not able to imediately implement suggestions as we receive them and all input must be reviewed and analyzed prior to putting it into practice. Sometimes this may take quite some time, as we must prioritize our tasks.
Although we strive for perfection, there are incidents that may
occur that require a refund. We have two types of refunds,
time credit and monetary. We prefer to refund with time
credit, as it is faster and more convenient for both our employees
and customers. Also, our employees at the shop are
authorized to give instant time credit when they complete the
proper memorandum.
Refunds for Time
Our employees are authorized to issue refund time to your account with the proper memorandum completed. The time issued will be in lieu of any future monetary compensation. By accepting the time addition to your account you are forfeiting any future compensation for this specific incident. Please do not ask any of our employees to issue time for invalid reasons, such as because you are their friend, or you will pay them later, etc... You would be asking that employee to commit a crime called embezzlement. The offending employee could be terminated and be charged with a felonious crime. Our employees have been briefed of the consequences of embezzlement, so please do not waste their time by asking for free time.
Refunds for Money
Should the need arise for a monetary refund, a check for the amount
determined by the governing board will be mailed to the address
listed on the Member's homepage, or an alternate address
submitted with the request. The request form is located at:
Money Refund Request.
Refunds for Prints
Prints are a troubled area for us, as people seem to want to experiment with prints and then seek a refund. Satisfaction does not include experimentation with prints and seeking a refund. This is not an acceptable reason for a refund. Please do not ask for a refund for any misprints, as our employees will just refer you to this paragraph, which you agreed to when you first joined. Now that we have established unacceptable reasons, let's explore possible acceptable reasons. Occasionally our printers run low on toner and leave faded areas on the prints. If you feel that your print is sub-standard because of a toner problem, one retry is acceptable after the toner has been replaced.
Behavior
Last updated 2 June 2011
While we don't maintain the quiteness level of the public library, there are still certain unacceptable behavior traits that will not be tolerated. Please do not act foolish, as our employees will just refer you to this paragraph, which you agreed to when you first became a member. Some examples of unacceptable behavior are listed below. This is not an all inclusive list, and our on duty employee does have some descretion regarding these situations. These rules are subject to change at any time without notice. This page is the most up to date version of our shop behavior guidelines.
